## How shoe sizes are defined

**US Men's**: Barleycorns above a "last" of 4 inches. Size 1 = 7⅔ inches; each full size adds ⅓ inch.

**US Women's**: Same scale as US Men's but offset by 1.5 sizes (women's 9 = men's 7.5).

**UK**: One Barleycorn less than US Men's for the same foot length.

**EU**: Based on Paris points — each point = ⅔ cm. One EU size = ⅔ cm of foot length.

**CM / JP**: Direct foot length measurement in centimeters, rounded to the nearest 0.5 cm.

### How do men's and women's US shoe sizes compare?

US women's sizes are approximately 1.5 sizes larger than men's. A US Men's 9 equals a US Women's 10.5.
