Pixel conversion formula

Pixels = (mm ÷ 25.4) × DPI

At 96 dpi (standard screen): A4 width = (210 ÷ 25.4) × 96 ≈ 794 px.

For print at 300 dpi: multiply any 96 dpi value by 300/96 ≈ 3.125.

Notes

  • ISO 216 A-series sizes have an aspect ratio of √2 ≈ 1.414, so each size folds exactly in half to make the next smaller size.
  • Ledger and Tabloid are the same physical sheet; Ledger is landscape, Tabloid is portrait.
  • Source: ISO 216:2007 for A/B series; ANSI/ASME Y14.1 for US sizes.
