How shoe sizes are defined
US Men’s: Barleycorns above a “last” of 4 inches. Size 1 = 7⅔ inches; each full size adds ⅓ inch.
US Women’s: Same scale as US Men’s but offset by 1.5 sizes (women’s 9 = men’s 7.5).
UK: One Barleycorn less than US Men’s for the same foot length.
EU: Based on Paris points — each point = ⅔ cm. One EU size = ⅔ cm of foot length.
CM / JP: Direct foot length measurement in centimeters, rounded to the nearest 0.5 cm.
Notes
- Size lookup uses the Brannock Device standard, widely used in US retail.
- Half sizes are supported for all systems where applicable.
- Sizing can vary slightly between brands — use this as a starting point, not a guarantee.
